Sophomore Year Begins

School started this past Wednesday, April 15. So, of course where is my first day of school picture?
Well, since my mom was on her first 24 hour shift as an EMT she wasn't able to take our first day of school pictures. So, that leaves it to my dad. Nothing against him or anyone, but I'd rather take my own picture than be awkwardly standing in front of our door or garage early in the morning. So, I took my own picture and thought I would share! It took me a couple of times to get a good enough picture so if my face looks a little odd, it's because I just wanted to be done with getting one good picture.

Even though it has only been 4 school days, I really think this year will go very well. I have a Football game this Friday, and I will be playing in the marching band for half-time. This will be my third year in the high school band, and I have set a goal as to make All-State Band. Last year I made District Band, and wasn't able to audition for All-State. Our band hasn't had a band member make All-State Band in years, so I also want to do it for my band director and also myself. I know with enough practice, dedication, and perfection I could make it, so wish me luck!

Melted Crayon Art

I have always found that all the melting crayon art was really cool! I've always wanted to try it sometime, but I never really had a good enough reason to do it. So, Brooklyn's birthday was coming up and I came up with a brilliant idea to make one for her. But, I also wanted the one I made to be a little different from the others I saw online. For those who do not know Brooklyn, she likes to wear tu-tus all the time! She also plays the Sousaphone/Tuba.

SO, here is what I did:

I printed a picture off with Brooklyn' whole body.

I printed off a Sousaphone

Then I just cut out a tu-tu from a piece of paper

Put them all together to make it look like a person wearing a tu-tu holding a Sousaphone.

Then I spray painted it black.

Stuck Brooklyn on the heavy-weight poster board and taped over it with tape (so I wouldn't get crayon all over it)

Attached all the blue, purple, green, and gray crayons on top of the board.

THEN, I took a hairdryer and melted the crayons.

This was how it all ended up! Sorry the picture is a little slanted!
