Today, July 13, I had an exposure done. For all who doesn't know what that means is where an oral surgeon cuts open your gum (with first numming your mouth) and puts a bracket on the tooth that will not grow in and is growing in a spot where it shouldn't so an orthodontist can pull the tooth done and do orthodontic stuff on that tooth (aka putting braces on that tooth that does not have a bracket on it and so it can have orthodontia work with the rest of the teeth).
Anyway, I had to get up at 6:30 this morning to have the whole process done. When I get there it feels like 32 degrees in there literally! So, I meet Dr. Esquible, who is a really nice and funny guy and he tells me what's going to happen etc etc. So they give me a blue blanket (so I don't get frozen of course!) and num my mouth. Seriously it is not that bad... I am completeley serious have a good 9 numming shots in my mouth before it wasn't that bad. Then, they OPERATE duh duh duhhhhhh. There is some strange noises here and there but nothing to worry about except don't close your mouth and don't taste the rubber gloves, which isn't that hard to do. After the finish and I sit up I feel so sick, I am dizzy, my stomach is quizzy, I am all clammy, and apparantly don't look so good.
So, they hurry and ly me down give me oxygen through my noes, put a blood pressure thing around my arm, put a heart rate clip thing on my finger, and give me some Dr. Pepper ( they said having something sweet helps with the blood pressure or something). Me, feeling as sick as a dog continueasly feels better and better and every so often they sit me up bit by bit. When I finally sit up 100% I felt sooooo much better and they told me that they sat me up too fast and because of all the excitement going on it just caused my body to freak out. So, they walked me to my car (with the blanket) and help me buckle in and close the door for me! Oh, I also got an awesome bracelet it has teeth all over it!!!! But, it is cute. So you would expect me to be complaining about how my mouth hurts and how I would never want to go there again, you absolutely 110% wrong. My mouth doesn't hurt at all, the process is no big deal, and I got a milkshake afterwards and a nap since I haven't been able to have one since Girls' Camp (which was absolutley fun fun FUN!). So, it wasn't bad, I would rather have that done again surgery wise.
Stay tuned for Girls' Camp and some pictures up next!
